RMC West Release or Transfer
FDC describes the West Unit as housing temporary medical, reception and orientation, transit, and some permanent populations. Union County combines a small UCSO jail with several major FDC sites. RMC West routinely holds reception, medical, and transit populations waiting for placement. This local mix makes it unusually easy to confuse movement out of a Union County facility with movement out of custody.
Record the full facility name and operator. “Union County Jail” belongs to UCSO and uses a booking number, sheriff record, VINE, and clerk file. “Reception and Medical Center West Unit” belongs to FDC and uses a DC number, location and incarceration history, inmate-release data, supervision, and FDC VINE. A place name without its agency can send the search down the wrong path.
RMC West Detainer Outcomes
A detainer can lead another authority to assume custody when FDC’s hold ends. The FDC record may identify detainer information, but the receiving agency’s system must confirm what happened next. Transfer to a county, federal, or immigration authority is not a return to the community.
