Union County Released Booking Photos
A booking photograph is an image made during intake. In Florida it is generally part of an arrest or booking record unless an exemption, sealing order, expungement order, or other law limits access. Release from jail does not itself erase the photograph. It also does not turn the image into proof of conviction. The Union County court disposition must be read separately to learn whether charges remained, were dismissed, or resulted in a judgment.
The source matters. A UCSO image depicts a local booking. An FDC offender image belongs to the state corrections record and may not be the Union County arrest photograph. FDLE registry images serve a distinct registration function. A news image might come from an agency announcement or another event. Record the agency and date whenever possible.
UCSO has no verified public desktop roster, current-inmate search, release feed, or booking-photo archive. A released person’s absence from the sheriff’s web page proves nothing about photo retention or case outcome. The maintained booking record is the better local source.
Where Union County Released Mugshots Appear
No single portal covers every image. Start with the creator of the photo and keep county-jail, state-prison, and registry records separate. VINELink may show a contributing-agency image, but photo presence and retention vary. Court files may include a specific exhibit, though no universal booking-photo field exists.
| Channel | Photo availability | How to access or limit |
|---|---|---|
| UCSO desktop jail page | No person-level feed verified | Do not expect a released-photo archive |
| UCSO mobile app | Former inmate feature reported; current photo behavior unverified | Check the live app, then confirm through UCSO |
| UCSO Records | Potentially, if maintained and nonexempt | Request the identified booking photograph expressly |
| FDC offender search | Many state records display an FDC photo | Use for state custody, not as a local jail-photo substitute |
| FDLE registries | Photos for covered registrants | Limited statutory populations, not general release lists |
| VINELink | May show an agency image | Status and notification tool with variable image retention |
| Union County court file | Sometimes a filed exhibit | Request the specific public document |
Local news and official UCSO social posts may also carry a dated incident photo. Those publications are not release ledgers. Commercial archives may keep old copies that are stale, mislabeled, or stripped of case context. No commercial mugshot or removal publisher is linked or endorsed.
Union County Sheriff App Photos
UCSO publishes an OCV app for Android and iOS. Current publisher descriptions promise news, information, alerts, tips, and outreach. They do not promise an inmate lookup, current mugshots, or a release-photo window.
A January 2025 Google Play review says the user had formerly accessed an “inmates” feature but then received “Check back later.” That review is a useful clue about changing app behavior. It is not an official statement that the feature works now or that it preserves photos after release.
The current official Android app listing captures that uncertainty.
The screenshot supports the app’s existence and the dated usability lead, not a claim that a stable inmate gallery is available.
If an image appears, save the agency label and record identifiers, then verify the person and release through UCSO. The Union County release-list fallback explains why direct confirmation is needed when no official feed exists.
Request Union County Booking Photos
The best original-source route for a Union County Jail image is a Chapter 119 request to UCSO Records. Florida law does not require a special phrase or a reason for an ordinary public-record request. Specific details help staff locate the record and separate the correct person from a similar name.
- Identify the person by full name and, when available, booking number, case number, arrest date, incident date, or deputy name.
- Ask expressly for the booking photograph created for the identified booking and any nonexempt booking record needed to establish its context.
- Send the request to UCSO Records by its documented contact channel, or visit 55 W Main Street, Room 102, Lake Butler.
- For a mailed response, include a self-addressed stamped envelope, enough postage, and payment for assessed copy charges as directed by UCSO.
- Ask for a cost estimate and the statutory basis for any withheld material. Request the nonexempt remainder after redaction.

UCSO’s public-record request page links a local fee schedule, but the detailed table was not reliable enough in the research environment to quote. Request the current amount. Under §119.07, standard copy charges and a reasonable special-service charge may apply in the circumstances set by law. “Prompt” does not mean one fixed statewide deadline.
Union County State Offender Photos
The FDC offender search is the official route when the person entered state prison. Many detail records show an FDC photograph, including released-person records. It is an image used by state corrections, not necessarily the photograph made during the Union County arrest. Compare the DC number, name, descriptors, prison history, release date, and Date Out-Custody.
Two official FDLE systems provide separate photo paths for limited groups. The Sexual Offender and Predator Search can display a registry photo and status. The Career Offender Registry can display images for people designated under that law. Neither is a general list of released Union County inmates. A missing record may simply mean the person is outside that registry’s legal scope.
Registry status must be read in full. A person shown could be released, supervised, in custody again, transient, or subject to another displayed status. The image alone does not answer that question.
Note: Label FDC and FDLE images by agency because a state corrections or registry photograph is not a UCSO booking photo.
Verify Union County Mugshot Context
Image discovery is only the first step. A Union County booking photo should be paired with the booking number, agency, arrest date, and case number when those fields are public. Then search the Union County criminal case for the filed disposition. A bond order, dismissal, plea, judgment, sentence, jail-credit entry, probation order, or termination entry may explain what followed the arrest. The clerk record can outlast an online custody display, but it does not replace UCSO’s release timestamp.
Current custody also needs its own check. Someone can have an old booking photograph while being released, transferred, supervised, or later held in another system. For county custody, call UCSO. For state custody, read the FDC record. VINELink can supply a reported status event, while the clerk file supplies the legal case path. A photo alone answers none of those questions.
Juvenile material, sealed or expunged matters, victim details, medical information, protected addresses, and some investigative or security content can be withheld or redacted under applicable law. If a custodian withholds the requested image, ask for the exemption citation and any nonexempt remainder. Do not assume that every arrest image must be public in every case.
The United States Marshals Service is another firm boundary. Its official policy generally does not release public prisoner photographs, histories, or arrival and departure times. If a Union County arrest became a federal matter, use the federal custody locator for status and do not expect a USMS mugshot channel.
Union County Mugshot Removal Law
Florida Statutes §901.43 is narrow. A covered commercial booking-photo publisher may not solicit or accept payment to remove a photo. The person shown or a legal representative can send the publisher’s registered agent a written request by registered mail with sufficient identity proof and information identifying the photograph. A covered publisher must act without charge within ten calendar days after receipt and may not republish the image.
The official statute text shows the removal and anti-fee rule.
The statute does not order UCSO, FDC, FDLE, a court, or every news publisher to erase a lawful record merely because release occurred.
Public-record and legal-use notice: This resource hosts no mugshot gallery and is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. Mugshot data may not be used for credit, employment, tenant, insurance, or any other FCRA-covered decision. An arrest image is not proof of guilt, and source records can be incomplete or outdated.
Union County Mugshots After Expungement
Release, dismissal, sealing, and expungement are different events. Florida does not erase an adult record just because the person left custody or charges ended. The FDLE sealing and expungement process generally begins with a Certificate of Eligibility, then requires a petition and court order when relief is available. The certificate alone does not alter a record.
A sealing or expungement order can change public access to covered official records. Provide the order to the relevant record custodian and follow the statutory process. For a wrong identity, wrong image, or other factual error in an official record, use the source agency’s correction channel. UCSO corrects its jail record. FDC or FDLE handles its own photo and status data.
Commercial copies and news archives may have separate legal questions. Section 901.43, a court sealing or expungement order, and a simple correction request do not have the same reach. Do not pay an unverified removal service or assume one request will erase every copy.
